Nurturing Children AND Nature

At Woodsy Wild, our mission is to encourage children to get outside and explore the wonder of nature. We want children to experience the splendor of creation firsthand through encounters with the outside world. In so doing, children will reap intellectual, physical, mental, and spiritual benefits.

Our educational outdoor gear is designed to ignite curiosity and an appreciation for the natural world. Our products are manufactured in the USA with the greatest of care. All products are made of renewable or fully recycled materials, reflecting our commitment to nurturing children AND nature.

Meet Kristell, Our founder

Kristell Miller has a PhD in Natural Resources Science and Management from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where she taught as an adjunct professor in the Forest Resources and Bioproducts Engineering Departments. She was a sustainability manager for an international Fortune 500 science and innovation company and taught sustainable product design concepts to engineering teams across all divisions. She decided to launch her own business to showcase truly sustainable product designs. She also felt nudged to share observations in natural science that point to a Creator and share stewardship principles that help care for His creation. It is from these aims that Woodsy Wild was born. She hopes to show that products with Net Positive impacts ARE possible and expose scientific evidence of a Supreme Designer. Kristell enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband, Greg, along with her children and grandchildren. She does much of her writing at the family’s log cabin in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

Meet the illustrator for Little Buddy Beaver & Two Little Loons:

Melissa Pfund

Melissa studied art at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. She is a lifelong Wisconsin resident and has enjoyed drawing from the moment whe was able to make her first crayon marks on the underside of the kitchen table. She recently married Steve, and energy specialist, who selflessly encourages her to pursue her creative endeavors. Melissa is a mother of three who strives to live life according to 1 Corinthians 10: 31 “…whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
